# Convert a Manual Test Case to an Automated Test Case

WalnutAI allows you to convert an existing **manual test case into an automated test case** using **Smart Recording**. The manual test case, including its steps and test data, is automatically passed to Smart Recording, allowing the complete flow to be executed and converted into automation.

#### Steps to Convert a Manual Test Case

* Navigate to the **Test Management** module and locate the manual test case you want to automate.
* Click the **three-dot menu** associated with the manual test case and select **Assign To and select Smart Recording**.

* Navigate to **Intelligence Hub** and select **Smart Recording**.
* Enter the application **URL** and click **Connect**.
* Once the application is connected, the **Tasks** button is enabled. Click the **Tasks** button and select the manual test case that you assigned to Smart Recording.&#x20;

* The test case is automatically populated in the chat panel as a prompt, including the existing **test steps, test data, and other relevant details**. Review the pre-populated prompt and click **Send** to begin executing the test flow and generate the automated test case.

* WalnutAI uses the provided manual test case details to execute the complete workflow on the application and generate the corresponding automated test steps.

* Once the test case is generated, review the steps and make any required modifications. You can edit objects, skip steps, add new steps, enable Continue on Failure, add nested test cases, or cancel steps as required.&#x20;

* Once you have completed the required modifications, click **Disconnect** to end the Smart Recording session. Then, click **Save** to save the automated test case.
