# Mobile Test Case Creation

WalnutAI enables you to create and automate test cases for **Android** and **iOS** applications. Mobile test cases can be created using **AI Recording** or **Manual Recording** and can be recorded and executed on **real devices** or **emulators/simulators**.

When you select **Mobile** as the test type, configure the required options before starting the recording.

**Recording Mode:** WalnutAI provides two recording modes for mobile testing:

* **AI Recording** – Describe the required mobile workflow in natural language. The AI agent performs the actions on the application and generates the corresponding test steps.
* **Manual Recording** – Perform the required actions directly on the mobile application. WalnutAI captures the actions and generates the corresponding test steps.

**Platform:** Select the mobile platform based on the application you want to test:

* **Android** – Used to create and execute test cases for Android applications.
* **iOS** – Used to create and execute test cases for iOS applications.

<figure><img src="https://295337183-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F9aroNmDWVJAmMjkdy0hx%2Fuploads%2FylQi61HlpkaTclxk9yA9%2FScreenshot%202026-08-12%20at%201.29.36%E2%80%AFPM.png?alt=media&amp;token=7c95842d-e653-4599-9e7d-f97de3f3667f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The selected platform determines the device and environment options available for recording and execution.

**Device Source:** Select how you want to connect to the mobile device:

* **Local USB** – Connect a physical mobile device directly to the system using a USB connection.
* **LambdaTest** – Use supported cloud-based mobile devices for remote testing.

**Device Type:** Select the environment on which you want to record or execute the test:

* **Real** – Use a physical mobile device to validate the application on actual hardware.
* **Emulator** – Use a virtual device that simulates a mobile device environment. Connect and run the emulator for it to become available for testing.

**Device:** After selecting the device source and device type, select the required device from the available devices.

If no device is displayed, ensure that the device is connected correctly or that the selected cloud device environment is configured and available.
